Hadrians Cycleway is approximately 174 miles long and includes Hadrian's Wall. The route starts at Ravenglass, Cumbria on the Irish Sea coast and ending at Tynemouth in Tyne & Wear on the North Sea coast.

Silloth / Bowness-on-Solway are popular alternative starting points offering a shorter distance of approximately 120 / 100 miles that still includes the entire length of Hadrian's Wall.

The route is fairly flat taking you along quiet country roads with the remains of Roman forts, tower, and towns, but you will encounter a few hills approximately half way into the journey.

Ravenglass was a Roman garrison, naval base and major supply point for the Roman occupation of North Western Britain. Whilst there are few visible Roman remains the bath house, one of the tallest surviving Roman structures in England, is the exception.

Hadrian's wall was built (work began AD122) as a defensive fortification in Roman Britain during the rule of Emperor Hadrian and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The wall starts on the west coast of England just west of Bowness-on-Solway and runs in an easterly direction to Segedunum at Wallsend on the east coast of England.

Along with Vindolanda it's one of the most popular tourist attractions in Northern England.
